I could lie and say it has all been fun and games, but it hasn't. It has been really hard; missing my family, the intensity of my course already , freshers and "freshers flu" (which I managed to catch despite not drinking). I think the first 2 weeks when it is freshers is particularly difficult for someone like myself, who prefers quiet nights in with friends and food rather than sticky, busy clubs with excess alcohol, but I expect/hope this will die down after freshers is over. There is always those few people that label non - party goers "boring" if they don't want to go out at night, but that's there preconceived judgement which I take no notice of. The university's student union have being really good at putting on an "alternative freshers" which includes things like UV Volleyball and badminton, a movie night, pub quiz ect. my only point is the name "alternative freshers" kind of makes me feel like I don't fit in...
However despite these difficulties there have been many good times; the flat mates are a total mixed bunch and all absolutely great, some of my lectures I have not had a clue what they are talking about but some I have felt truly inspired, there is always something to do and there is a great atmosphere on campus.
Am going to be late for a lecture but will blog later about my room ect!
